What Is Superstitions???

Definition:

Superstition is a credulous belief or notion, not based on reason or knowledge. The word is often used pejoratively to refer to folk beliefs deemed irrational, which is appropriate since irrational means "not based on reason". This leads to some superstitions being called "old wives' tales". It is also commonly applied to beliefs and practices surrounding luckprophecy and spiritual beings, particularly the irrational belief that future events can be foretold by specific unrelated prior events.

Examples Of Malaysian Superstitions:

1. If baby kicks a lot, it's a boy. (Malay)
2. If hears an owl, it's a girl. (Malay)
3. Pineapple is a sign of good fortune. (Chinese)
4. Number '4' must be avoided because it is similar tone to the character of 'death'. (Chinese)
5. Thursday is a bad day to washing one's hair. (Indian)

Opinion regarding superstitions:

For my opinion, superstitions can be like a part of entertainment to make happiness and maybe to put concerns to the listeners whether we already know that all the superstitions are nonsense, but as a Muslim, superstitions are against our religions because Allah who the one we should refer to not to these nonsense superstitions because Allah is our creator, and most of the superstitions are not been created by Him but by 'human intelligence'.

Who Is Socrates???

Do you know Socrates??? He was a philosophy who talking about how earth, sun and everything moving and the function to life. For the rest of his life, Socrates dedicated himself to unrestricted debate with the aristocratic young citizens of Athens, tenaciously questioning their unnecessary confidence in the truth of popular opinions, even though he often offered them with none clear lessons. Unlike the professional Sophists of the time, Socrates pointedly refused to accept payment for his work with students, but despite of this lofty disdain for material success, many of them were devotedly loyal to him. Their parents, however, were often unhappy with his influence on their son, and his earlier association with opponents of the democratic government had already made him a controversial political figure.  Although the amnesty of 405 forestalled direct action for his political activities, an Athenian jury found other charges, corrupting the youth and interfering with the religion of the city, upon which to convict Socrates, and they sentenced him to death in 399 B.C.E.
